Manila Major groups announced, DC and Team Secret paired in group B

The 16 teams participating at Manila Major have been split in four groups and will be played in a GSL format starting on 3rd and 4th of June to decide the seedlings for the main event double elimination bracket.
Although each group will be extremely interesting to watch, one of the four looks particularly thrilling with Digital Chaos and Team Secret drawn together, which will bring the first official confrontation between the two teams. Since the Spring Shuffle when Secret’s captain Clement 'Puppey' Ivanov released from their duties both Omar 'w33' Aliwi and Rasmus 'MiSeRy' Fillipsen, Secret has struggled to find the balance between the new players while Digital Chaos started to rule the NA region, qualifying to no less than four LANs, outshining the likes of compLexity Gaming and even Evil Geniuses.
Natus Vincere and the ESL One Manila Champions, Wings Gaming are also in the same group B, which will make the fight for the top two places extremely tough.
Team Liquid, currently ranked one worldwide on the GosuGamers rankings were drawn in group C withAlliance, Fnatic and the StarLadder Dota 2 Invitational Champions, Vici Gaming Reborn and should not have too many problems to secure an upper bracket seed for the main vent.
As for the other two groups, A and D, the race is quite open. OG and Evil Geniuses although regarded as the stronger teams in their respective groups will have to prove themselves against the other teams that recently displayed great form.
NA’VI decline Global Grand Masters invite

Announced only last week, the first edition of Global Grand Masters suffered a change to their directly invited teams list. Natus Vincere’s schedule for the upcoming two months will prevent them from playing at ProDota’s first large tournament.

Nanyang Championship #2: Newbee take the final direct invite

Topping off the list of direct invites to the Nanyang Championships is Newbee, the second place finishers at EPICENTER.
After being one win away from becoming the victors of the EPICENTER LAN event, Newbee has recieved another chance at an international LAN event. Newbee will be joining Team Secret, Fnatic, EG, Digital Chaos and three other to be decided teams in Shanghai, China from the 6th to 10th of July to battle for a $200,000 prize pool at the Nanyang Championships season two.
The Short Film contest is back

Valve declared open the competition for the 2016 Short Film contest with no less than $43,500 in prize money on the line.
The submissions must be done in the Steam Workshop, with entry open until July 26, and the top ten highest-rated will be nominated in The International 2016 Battle Pass for a final community vote. Similar to last year’s competition, the ten films will be showcased during The International broadcast and each nominee is guaranteed a $500 prize. However, the top three filmmakers will take home a bigger share of the money.
Dota 2 Short Film contest prize money:
1st: $25,000
2nd: $10,000
3rd: $5,000
4th/10th: $500
Before you start working on your 2016 masterpiece, keep in mind that the final product must be no longer than one minute and you can work in any software, with the Source Filmmaker not being mandatory. Also, for those of you feeling particularly inspired you can submit multiple videos.

Tickets for The International 2016

Tickets will go on sale April 7th at 10:00 AM and 10:00 PM Seattle Time, and this year’s competition will offer two ticket options. The Midweek ticket—available for $75—will grant attendance to the first four days of the event August 8th – 11th, and includes access to the opening ceremony and the All-Star match. The Finals ticket—available for $100—will grant access to the last two days of the main event, August 12th and 13th. Both ticket options can be purchased in a single order.
As a special bonus to fans attending the event, we will be dropping unique in-game items to audience members inside of the arena. At First Blood in each individual game, 500 exclusive Attendee Treasures will drop, each containing visually-unique versions of this year’s Secret Shop Immortals. To be eligible, you must have a badge linked to a Steam account and be in the arena when First Blood occurs.
For fans with only the Midweek ticket, we’re also providing a free large outdoor viewing area on the KeyArena grounds where you’ll be able to watch the final two days.

Team Secret New Roster

Team Secret new roster news has created a commotion across the Dota 2 community for the second time since their inception.
Earlier this morning it was revealed that Omar “w33” Aliwi and Rasmus “MiSeRy” Filipsen were released by Team Secret only four days before the rosters become locked for the Manila Major and The International 6. Team Secret won the Shanghai Major less than three weeks ago and were not expected to make any roster changes in this transfer window.
The changes have created upheaval across the board, both as Artour “Arteezy” Babaev and Saahil “UNiVeRsE” Arora have parted ways with The International 5 champions, Evil Geniuses, in order to assume positions in Team Secret.
